Step-by-step instructions (English)

  1. Select an image and choose a free crop or aspect-ratio preset.
  2. Move the crop region with the available position controls or drag interaction; rotate or flip if needed.
  3. Inspect the selected area and download the cropped PNG.

Fórmula y método

Rotate and flip the decoded pixels, then extract the selected rectangle. Drag or adjust the position controls to choose the region. Aspect-ratio presets constrain its shape, while free mode allows separate crop width and height.

Ejemplo práctico

Choose 1:1 to create a square crop, move the selection over your subject, and download the selected pixels as PNG.

When this tool is useful

Remove distracting edges, isolate a subject, or create a square composition from a wide image. Cropping is a framing operation; use resizing separately if you also need a specific output resolution.

Common mistakes and limitations

  • A tight crop reduces the number of retained pixels; enlarging it later can reduce apparent sharpness.
  • Check the selection after rotation or flipping because the composition changes.

Practical questions about this tool (English)

Does cropping delete the original file?

No. The tool produces a downloadable result. Keep the original file so you can choose a different composition later.

Is a 1:1 crop the same as a fixed 1,000-pixel square?

No. The ratio determines shape, not a fixed pixel size. A square selection can have many different dimensions; use Image Resizer for a specific size.
